Lewiston Woman Wins Record $1.5M Jackpot at Clearwater River Casino

A Lewiston woman has hit the largest jackpot in the history of Clearwater River Casino & Lodge. Linda Jorgensen walked away with $1,541,533.11 after playing a Wheel of Fortune Cash Link Video Gaming Machine. The win stunned both casino staff and the game’s manufacturer. The massive payout came from a $4.50 wager on a Wide Area Progressive slot. These machines are electronically linked across multiple casinos, building jackpots over time. Wheel of Fortune slots, produced by International Game Technology (IGT), have created over 1,100 millionaires since 1996 and awarded more than $3.3 billion in prizes.

Casino officials immediately contacted IGT to verify the win. A technician confirmed the payout, though the machine’s maximum jackpot was originally set at $500,000. Dan Kane, general manager of Clearwater Casino, called the amount life-changing for Jorgensen. The casino is owned and operated by the Nez Perce Tribe, who also run It'se Ye-Ye Casino in Kamiah. Lewiston, where the win occurred, sits 267 miles north of Boise, Idaho.

Jorgensen’s jackpot now stands as the largest ever at the Lewiston gaming property. The win adds to the long list of Wheel of Fortune millionaires since the game’s launch. Clearwater Casino has not announced any further details about the payout process.
