Royal Caribbean Unveils Largest Floating Casino on Harmony of the Seas After Major Renovation
Royal Caribbean has completed a major renovation of Harmony of the Seas, introducing the largest casino in its fleet. The upgrade reflects a broader industry shift as cruise lines expand gambling options to match rising demand in the US. The ship has now resumed sailings with new entertainment, dining, and accommodation features. The refurbishment took place during a scheduled drydock as part of Royal Caribbean’s Royal Amplified programme. Crews expanded the Casino Royale on Deck 4 by converting nearby entertainment spaces into gaming areas. The casino now holds over 500 slot machines and 37 live dealer tables, offering blackjack, roulette, craps, baccarat, three-card poker, and Texas Hold’em.
Beyond gambling, the ship gained nearly 100 new staterooms, including panoramic suites and inside cabins. Public areas were also redesigned, with the *Crown Lounge* moved to Deck 15 and updates to pool decks, bars, and restaurants. New venues include a Mexican eatery, a Brazilian steakhouse, a sports bar, an arcade, and a tiki-themed cocktail lounge. *Harmony of the Seas* has returned to service with summer voyages in the Western Mediterranean. Later this year, it will shift to year-round Caribbean and Bahamas routes.
The renovation aligns with cruise lines’ push to boost casino entertainment as gambling grows more popular. With its expanded gaming floor and refreshed amenities, Harmony of the Seas now offers one of the largest floating casinos at sea. The ship’s updated features will cater to passengers on Mediterranean and Caribbean itineraries.
