Biysk's Festive Season Brings Theatre, Art and Winter Magic for All Ages
Biysk's Department of Culture, Sports, and Youth Policy Announces Holiday Events
If your New Year's gifts are already bought, the tree is decorated, and the menu is planned, it's time to set aside the holiday hustle and simply enjoy the moment. Instead of wandering through crowded shopping malls, why not visit some of Biysk's cultural and sporting events? Many are themed around the upcoming holidays.
Exhibitions:
- The historical division of the Biysk Local History Museum is hosting "Christmas and New Year" from December 1 to January 8, open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- The "Wind of Change" exhibition, showcasing works by young artists, is on display at Biysk's Exhibition Hall until January 23, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Also at the Exhibition Hall until January 23, a small exhibit from the museum's collection, "Winter the Enchantress Arrives," is open to visitors.
- The historical division of the Biysk Local History Museum is offering Christmas fortune-telling sessions daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Photographer Yevgeny Sanin's solo exhibition "Temples of Altai" is running at the Chuysky Tract Museum until January 23, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- The family-friendly event "A Winter Fairy Tale at the Museum" is also taking place at the Chuysky Tract Museum during regular hours.
- On December 25, the V.M. Shukshin Central City Library invites visitors to its Saturday PLAY-TIME (board game session) throughout the day.
Performances, Matinees, and Concerts:
- The Biysk Cultural Center (KTS) presents the New Year's show "Winter Fairy Tale" on December 25 and 26 at 11:00 AM.
- The Biysk Drama Theater will stage the fairy tale "Snow White" on December 25 and 26 at 12:00 PM.
- The puppet theater "Giants" performs "Operation Santa Claus" at the House of Culture (GDK) on December 25 at 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM.
- The Biysk Drama Theater presents the comedy "The Militsioner Peshkin's Lucky Break" (12+) on December 25 and 26 at 5:00 PM.
- The New Year's performance "The Mystery of the Magic Clock" will take place at GDK's Club No. 2 in Novy settlement on December 26 at 1:00 PM.
- The gala concert of the "Singing City" festival will be held at the House of Culture (GDK) on December 26 at 5:00 PM.
- A costume New Year's matinee, "In the Land of Fairy Tales and Wonders," will take place at the KTS (3rd Malougrenevskaya St., 1) on December 26 at 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
Sports Events:
The "Zarya" Sports School Artistic Gymnastics Championship "Snow Maiden 2022," dedicated to the upcoming New Year, will take place on December 25 and 26 at the Zarya Sports Complex.
The final round of the Altai Territory Blitz Chess Cup will be held at the chess club on 34 Radishcheva Street on December 25 at 4:00 PM. On December 26 at 11:00 AM, the final round of the Altai Territory Rapid Chess Cup will take place.
The New Year's ski race will be held on December 26 at 12:00 PM in the village of Sorokino.
