Koblenz friends miss €102M Eurojackpot by a single number

Two friends from Koblenz narrowly missed a €102 million Eurojackpot jackpot by just one number. Their ticket matched six out of seven numbers in Friday’s draw, earning them a smaller but still substantial prize. The near-miss briefly dampened their excitement before they realised their win.

The pair had chosen the numbers 1, 32, 33, 36, 7, and 12—matching all but one of the winning selection. Instead of the drawn number 35, they had marked 37, costing them the top prize. Despite the disappointment, their ticket still secured them €10,268.70.

One of the winners had initially needed convincing to play Eurojackpot at all. Now, they both plan to use their winnings for a luxurious summer holiday. Undeterred by the near-miss, the friends have already decided to keep playing in hopes of landing the full jackpot next time. Since their close call, the Eurojackpot has rolled over, climbing to €118 million for the next draw.

The Koblenz duo walked away with over €10,000, a consolation after missing the record-breaking jackpot. Their story highlights how a single digit can change fortunes overnight. The Eurojackpot now stands at €118 million, awaiting the next lucky winner.
