Massachusetts man claims $2 million lottery win from scratch card

A Marshfield man has scooped a $2 million lottery prize from a scratch card. Robert McKenna bought the winning ticket at a local store in Hanover. His win follows several other large payouts in Massachusetts this year.

McKenna’s lucky ticket came from the $2,000,000 Stacked scratch game. He purchased it at Home Spirits on 227 Columbia Road in Hanover. Instead of annual payments, he opted for a one-time lump sum of $1.3 million.

This latest win adds to a string of big lottery prizes in the state. In March, an anonymous player claimed a $25 million jackpot from a ticket bought at a Cumberland Farms gas station. After taxes, they took home $16.25 million. Two months earlier, another winner secured $250,000 from the *$250,000 Winter Winnings* scratch-off game. The Hanover store where McKenna bought his ticket also benefited. It received a 1% selling bonus of $20,000 for selling the winning ticket.

McKenna’s win marks another major payout in Massachusetts this year. The state has now seen multiple multi-million-dollar lottery winners in recent months. Home Spirits, the store that sold the ticket, earned a bonus for its role in the sale.
