Belarus launches first direct flights to Phú Quốc amid soaring demand

A new direct flight from Minsk to Phú Quốc has successfully launched, marking a key step in travel ties between Belarus and Việt Nam. The first Belavia-operated service landed at Phú Quốc International Airport on October 12, fully booked with 281 passengers on board. This route is the first tangible result of the Strategic Partnership between the two nations.

The inaugural flight arrived as part of a new schedule that will see the Minsk - Phú Quốc route operate once every 11 days. Demand has been high, with all tickets already sold out until March 2026. Belavia has also expanded its fleet by adding modern Airbus A330-200 aircraft to support the route.

Belarusian travellers now enjoy visa-free entry to Việt Nam for stays of up to 30 days. Tourism officials expect nearly 10,000 Belarusian visitors to arrive during the 2025-26 season. The airline has also announced plans to expand its operations in Việt Nam beyond Phú Quốc in the near future.

The new route strengthens travel connections between Belarus and Việt Nam under their Strategic Partnership. With flights fully booked for months and visa-free access in place, tourism between the two countries is set to grow. Belavia’s expansion plans suggest further routes may follow in the future.
