Cultural Events in Biysk: Performances, Exhibitions, and Sports

The Biysk Department of Culture, Sports, and Youth Policy has announced a lineup of events taking place in the city this weekend.

Theater and Concerts:

  • On March 12 at 12:00 PM, the Biysk Drama Theater will stage the fairy tale "Frau Holle" (0+).
  • A detective-themed workshop, "The Case of the Gingerbread Detectives" (0+), will be held at the Biysk Drama Theater on March 13 at 12:00 PM.
  • The Biysk Drama Theater will present the vaudeville "Midnight Heist" (16+) on March 12 at 5:00 PM.
  • A tragicomedy with musical elements, "Tok Time" (16+), will be performed at the Biysk Drama Theater on March 13 at 5:00 PM.
  • The "Spring Concert" will take place at the City Culture Palace on March 12 at 5:30 PM.
  • The Y.F. Savchenko Children's Technical Creativity Center will host full-dome planetarium shows: "Dark Matter" (10+) and "Seeing Photons" (12+).

Special Events:

  • For International Planetarium Day, the Y.F. Savchenko Center will offer themed programs on March 13 at 12:00 PM, 4:00 PM, and 5:00 PM.

Exhibitions:

  • "Ten Great Masters of the Renaissance: From Botticelli to Michelangelo, Da Vinci, and Titian" – A multimedia exhibition at the Exhibition Hall, open 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
  • "And This Time Is Called Spring…" – An exhibition from the Museum Collections at the Exhibition Hall, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, running until April 10.
  • "Orthodox Book Day: Early Printed Church Books, Cast Icons, Crosses, Chalices, and More" – Historical Department of the Biysk Local History Museum, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, until March 31.
  • "The Wonders of the East" – An exhibition of artifacts from the museum's collections at the Historical Department of the Biysk Local History Museum, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, open year-round.
  • "Spring Mood" – An art exhibition by faculty from the Art and Graphics Department of the D.I. Kuznetsov Biysk Pedagogical College at the Chuysky Tract Museum, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, until April 10.

Sports Events:

  • The municipal stage of the Altai Krai Chess Olympiad for school teams will take place at the Chess Club (34 Radishcheva St.) on March 12 and 13 at 10:00 AM.
  • The M.R. Moldovanov Memorial Cross-Country Skiing Competition will be held at Sports School No. 1 on March 13 at 11:00 AM.
  • The Biysk Cup in Chess (three leagues, point-based) will be held at 228/3 Mukhacheva St. on March 13 at 9:00 AM.
  • The 9th round of the Biysk Mini-Football Championship (for boys born in 2012–2013) will take place at the KSC Municipal Sports Center on March 13, with matches running from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
