WEONTV Launches Global OTT Platform for Cambodian Diaspora in France
WEONTV, a Paris-based TV service, has launched an OTT platform for the global Cambodian community. The company is using Icareus Suite Cloud to deliver live TV, video-on-demand, and interactive advertising to viewers worldwide.
The first phase of the rollout is now live in France, with plans to expand across Europe and the US in the near future. WEONTV selected Icareus Suite as its core platform for managing all Cambodian community TV services. The cloud-based system provides tools for asset management, channel scheduling, pay TV provisioning, and audience analytics. It also supports time-shifting, letting viewers watch linear TV channels in different time zones.
The service runs on HEVC-enabled Android set-top boxes supplied by Geniatec. Subscribers can access linear TV, on-demand content, and targeted advertising through the platform. Valery Tep, WEONTV’s President Directeur General, highlighted the system’s simplicity, reliability, and quick deployment. He also noted its flexibility in adding new features as the service grows.
Icareus Suite’s multi-tenancy function allows WEONTV to handle multiple community TV services efficiently. This reduces operational costs while keeping the platform scalable for future expansion. WEONTV’s Cambodian service is now available in France, with further European markets and the US set to follow. The platform’s cloud infrastructure and time-shifting capabilities aim to provide a smooth viewing experience for Cambodian audiences worldwide. Interactive ads and on-demand content will also form part of the expanded offering.
