According to his former press secretary Larry Speakes, Reagan’s team treated repetition as truth, claiming, 'If you tell the same story five times, it's true.' This approach laid the groundwork for later political strategies that prioritised narrative over accuracy.

Reagan frequently dismissed expert advice, displaying naivety on critical issues. His reliance on gut instincts over evidence mirrored later trends in conservative politics.
