Billy Walters reveals high-stakes secrets in explosive new memoir

Billy Walters, the Michael Jordan of sports betting, sat down with VSiN's Brent Musburger to discuss his new book, "Gambler: Secrets of a Life at Risk," out Tuesday, Aug. 22.

Ahead of the publication date, book excerpts focusing on Walters' relationship with Phil Mickelson have already made headlines.

But as Musburger pointed out while on VSiN Tonight on Monday with Matt Youmans and Wes Reynolds, "The book doesn't even get to Phil Mickelson until the 300th page."

The VSiN interview certainly covers Mickelson, whom Walters blames for his conviction on insider trading. But perhaps more interesting to the VSiN audience, Walters shares his never-revealed-before methods for becoming a successful sports bettor and details of his operation. (He was betting $20 million a week during one period in the 1980s.)

He also recounts some of the big losses and bad beats he has had in his career.
