Almaty ensures steady medicine supply with no shortages reported citywide
In Almaty, a two-month supply of essential medicines has been stockpiled. Currently, the stabilization fund of the city holds over 8 million drugs, while pharmaceutical companies have more than 20 million. This was reported by Timur Khairov, the coordinator for drug supply in the megacity, as reported by **Almaty.tv**. He also denied rumors of a shortage of cardiovascular drugs in pharmacies, stating that the stabilization fund currently holds 8 types of such medicines. Doctors prescribe medications based on their medical components, not their brand names. "We maintain this stock, and pharmaceutical companies constantly purchase and maintain the necessary supply of medicines. The availability of medical masks in all city pharmacies is 100%," noted Timur Khairov. Overall, the situation with medicines in the market remains stable, with no shortages. Under the instructions of Akim Baktijan Sagintayev, weekly monitoring of drug supplies in hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies is being conducted. Pharmaceutical companies have additionally purchased and supplied over 40 million drugs of 68 different types. City pharmacies are fully stocked with medical masks, and there has been no increase in drug prices.
