DuPage County resident wins $1M lottery jackpot on birthday

A DuPage County resident has claimed a million-dollar prize from the Millionaire Club game. The winning ticket, bought for $50 at a local Mobil Gas station, was revealed after the March 20 draw. Meanwhile, two friends—known as the 'Pirate Girls'—also struck gold with a six-figure jackpot in the Lucky Day Lotto. The DuPage County winner celebrated the victory as the perfect birthday gift. Their ticket, purchased at Squire Liquor & Tobacco on 1929 Plum Grove Rd. in Palatine, matched the winning numbers: 17, 22, 25, 31, and 40. The store will now receive a $7,500 bonus for selling the million-dollar ticket.

The 'Pirate Girls' initially believed they had won $700 from their Lucky Day Lotto ticket. After double-checking, they discovered the ticket was actually worth the jackpot. Both groups of winners described their windfalls as life-changing surprises. The news of the wins was publicised recently, though the draws took place weeks earlier.

The two separate wins bring significant payouts to the DuPage County resident and the 'Pirate Girls'. Squire Liquor & Tobacco will also benefit from the million-dollar sale. The prizes mark a rare double success in Illinois lottery games.
