Vladimir Lappo wins €61,000 at Merit Poker Montenegro Championship

Vladimir Lappo has won the €880 Merit Poker Cup at the Merit Poker Montenegro Championship. He outlasted a field of 415 players to claim his largest career prize of €61,000. The final showdown saw him defeat Nikolay Fal in a tense heads-up battle. Lappo entered the final table with a modest stack but quickly built momentum. One of his biggest pots came against Fausto Tantillo, where his ace-five beat Tantillo’s ten-six. He also eliminated Mikhail Zavoloka in fifth place, winning with ace-ten against pocket eights.

Key all-in confrontations further solidified his lead. He won with ace-king against pocket sixes and later with king-queen against pocket jacks. Tantillo eventually finished third, earning €29,000. The tournament reached its climax in the final hand. Lappo’s ace-four overcame Fal’s ace-eight, securing him the title and the top prize.

The victory marks Lappo’s biggest career win to date. His strategic play and crucial hands ensured he took down the Merit Poker Cup. The €61,000 prize solidifies his position as a rising force in competitive poker.
