Two Beloved Lancaster Shops Merge Into One Downtown Hub This Summer

The owner of Farbo Co. and The Midnight Oil in Lancaster city says the two gaming-themed businesses will combine in a new downtown location.

Evan Farbo announced that the businesses will move this summer to 29-41 N. Queen St., the 7,300-square-foot former home of clothing store Rainbow Shops, which closed in 2024.

Farbo Co. is a self-described 'general nerdery' store that features role-playing games, Japanese imports, arts and crafts, and fashion. The Midnight Oil, a late-night social hobbies lounge for board game enthusiasts, opened two years ago at 44 N. Christian St.

The two businesses will remain open until the move, which will result in a yet-to-be-named new venture. Farbo announced the planned moves on social media but did not respond to messages seeking more details.
