Strasbourg's grueling season tests resilience across three tournaments

Strasbourg remains the only French club still competing in three tournaments this season. The team is chasing finals in both the Coupe de France and the Europa Conference League while balancing Ligue 1 commitments. However, injuries and fatigue are now testing their campaign. The club’s schedule has been relentless. With 40 matches already played, another 15 could follow before the season ends. Manager Gary O’Neil recently fell ill after the Europa Conference League clash with HNK Rijeka, losing his voice but has since recovered.

Injuries have piled up, sidelining Aaron Anselmino, Benjamin Chilwell, Emmanuel Emegha, and Diego Moreira. Their absence has weakened the attack, with just three goals scored in the last four games. League form has also dipped, with only one win in the past seven matches.

Off the pitch, Joaquín Panichelli earned a late call-up to the Argentina squad after being overlooked earlier. Meanwhile, Martial Godo and Samir El-Mourabet will join their national teams during the upcoming international break. Strasbourg’s season hangs in the balance as they juggle three competitions. The mounting injuries and packed fixture list will shape their chances in the coming weeks. Their next performances will determine whether they can turn their ambitions into reality.
