Safer Gambling Week 2026 expands responsible betting awareness across UK and Ireland

Safer Gambling Week 2026 will take place from November 16 to 22 across the UK and Ireland. The event, led by the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC), Bacta, and the Bingo Association, aims to raise awareness of responsible gambling tools. Organisers expect activities to run online and in betting shops, casinos, and bingo halls nationwide. The campaign follows the success of Safer Gambling Week 2025, which saw over 1.5 million unique accounts using safer gambling tools. These tools include deposit limits, time-outs, and self-exclusion options. Last year’s event also generated more than 80 million impressions on social media.

Deposit limit usage increased by 14% during the 2025 campaign. Political figures such as Baroness Twycross, Nigel Huddleston MP, and Louie French MP publicly supported the initiative. Grainne Hurst, Chief Executive of the Betting and Gaming Council, highlighted the event’s positive impact on promoting safer play. Safer Gambling Week runs alongside the separate European Safer Gambling Week. Both campaigns focus on educating players about responsible betting practices and available support.

The 2026 event will continue to push for wider adoption of safer gambling measures. With backing from industry leaders and policymakers, the campaign aims to build on last year’s engagement figures. Activities will span digital platforms and physical venues to reach as many participants as possible.
