Quad fives save Alfie Darby in dramatic PartyPoker Tour showdown

The 2026 PartyPoker Tour is underway in Sheffield, with 50 players still competing from an original field of 476. The event now offers a total prize pool of £59,500 as the action intensifies at the tables. A dramatic hand unfolded at Table 1 between Alfie Darby and Andrew Teng. Darby, facing elimination, rivered quad fives to beat Teng’s set of queens. The win pushed Darby’s stack up to 565,000 chips.

Teng had earlier doubled up with pocket jacks against an opponent holding ace-queen. Despite the setback against Darby, his stack remains healthy at 425,000—just above the average for the remaining field. Play is currently at level 16, with blinds at 4,000/8,000. The tournament continues as players battle for a share of the growing prize pool.

With 50 players left, the competition is tightening in Sheffield. Darby’s recovery and Teng’s resilience highlight the shifting dynamics at the tables. The next rounds will determine who advances closer to the £59,500 prize money.
