Peyote Brings Bold Mexican Flair to Mayfair's Cork Street
A new high-end Mexican restaurant named Peyote is nearing completion on Cork Street in Mayfair, London. The venue features a bold, quirky design inspired by a Mexican Hacienda, spread across two distinct levels. Work on the project began in August 2013, with a team of specialists leading the transformation. The restaurant’s interior was overseen by London-based design consultancy Sagrada, acting as project architect. Target Shopfitters Ltd served as the main contractor for the fit-out, bringing the vision to life. The ground floor now includes a spacious dining and bar area, alongside a dedicated tequila room. Accessibility improvements were also made to ensure ease of movement for all guests.
Below ground, the basement restaurant stands out with reclaimed terracotta tiles underfoot and a striking skull feature wall. The 100-cover venue blends a variety of textures, from fabric-covered walls to a distressed herringbone floor. Regular diners will have the option to reserve lockers for storing their favourite tequilas, adding a personal touch to the experience. The design reflects a playful yet sophisticated take on Mexican culture. Every detail, from the materials to the layout, was chosen to create an immersive dining atmosphere.
Peyote’s completion will mark the arrival of a unique dining destination in Mayfair. The combination of bespoke design elements and premium amenities aims to attract both casual visitors and loyal patrons. Once open, the restaurant will offer a fresh take on Mexican cuisine in a setting unlike any other in the area.
