- Feofan's Day (Theophanes the Confessor)
Old Style date: March 12.
Feofan the Confessor was a Byzantine monk, chronicler, and revered saint of the Orthodox Church. His life is known from the Vita written by Patriarch Methodius in the 9th century, as well as from his own work, Chronography. The saint was believed to possess the gift of miracle-working—healing the sick and casting out demons.
In Russia, this day was marked by welcoming spring. It was said that by Feofan's Day, the snow would fully melt and the earth would thaw.
Special attention was given to horses—the peasants' most trusted helpers. It was believed that if a horse fell ill on this day, it would remain unwell all summer. To protect them from sickness and the evil eye, horses were led to a spring and given water "from silver"—a silver coin or ring was dipped into the water before they drank. Many proverbs and omens were tied to horses. One saying went: "A good master has no bad horse." People also noted: if a horse tosses its head upward, bad weather is coming; if it snorts on the road, a joyful meeting lies ahead.
The weather was closely watched as well. Fog on Feofan's Day foretold a good harvest of flax, oats, and hemp. To ensure the omen came true, people would scatter hemp and flax seeds for the birds. Hemp fiber was once used to make twine, ropes, and coarse fabrics, while hempseed oil was used in cooking and painting.

Today's Outlook: A Day of Power and Caution
Today is one of the most favorable days for work and business—yet it also carries a provocative edge. The energy is so potent that you could figuratively "move mountains." Words take on an almost magical power, and the world around you responds keenly to every utterance, even an offhand remark. Whatever you say—good or bad—may well manifest in reality, and spoken wishes, whether for yourself or others, could come true. But beware: harm done today will not go unpunished. Choose your words carefully, as a careless or malicious remark is sure to rebound like a boomerang. Fortune favors the wise and the just.
Personal Influence: Harnessing Energy with Care Today's vitality and drive should be channeled toward meaningful goals—for yourself and those around you. It's a fine day for communication, though large gatherings are best avoided in favor of solitude. The latter half of the seventh lunar day brings chaotic energies, and only personal discipline and organization will help you navigate them. Mind your words: never has the proverb "A word is not a sparrow—once it flies, you can't catch it" rung truer.
Business and Finance: A Day of Opportunity Partners are inclined to trust you now, and new clients, allies, or even patrons may appear. It's an ideal time to file tax returns. Dealings with high-ranking officials are likely to go smoothly—problems will resolve favorably. Champions of justice will find success today, with the moon on their side.
This is a prime moment for negotiations, forging new connections, conducting interviews, conferences, and advertising or outreach campaigns—any endeavor where the power of language is key.
Don't forget to praise your team. A few kind words will boost morale, productivity, and camaraderie, helping your business thrive.
