EPIC and WHYSUP renew partnership to combat youth gambling harm

EPIC Risk Management has renewed its partnership with WHYSUP for another year. The collaboration focuses on educating young people about gambling-related harm and mental health. Both organisations have worked together for four years, receiving strong praise for their efforts. The renewed partnership aims to keep delivering high-quality gambling education to students. During the 2022/23 academic year, the programme reached 28,734 pupils across 158 UK schools. Feedback showed that 88% of students gained a better understanding of gambling harm after taking part.

School staff have repeatedly commended the initiative for being age-appropriate and well-structured. Data also revealed that 93% of students said they would gamble less—or not at all—after completing the programme. Mark Murray, founder of WHYSUP, expressed satisfaction with the ongoing partnership. Simon Wootton, EPIC’s programme coordinator, highlighted the positive feedback and pledged to keep improving the programme each year.

The extended partnership will allow the initiative to continue its work in schools. With a proven track record of success, the programme will keep providing education on gambling risks and mental well-being. Both organisations remain committed to reaching more students in the coming year.
