Cyprus to Launch Its First Global Casino Resort Within a Year

As the Tourism Minister expressed, George Lakkotrypis, "The primary goal of establishing a casino here is to enhance the quality of tourist services and attract tourists." He added that "the only option is creating an integrated resort."

The governement is working on issuing a license within the next 12 months that will develop a global casino resort with restaurants, hotels, shops and themed parks. The resort is expected to provide an important growth in Cyprus' tourism industry as well as creating a high revenue to the government from gambling taxes.
