Safer Gambling Week 2025 unites industry leaders for responsible play

Safer Gambling Week 2025 will run from November 17th to 24th across the UK and Europe. The annual campaign focuses on raising awareness of responsible gambling practices. Major industry names, including PokerNews and Flutter Entertainment, have pledged their support for this year’s initiative. PokerNews has joined the effort by promoting the core principles of sustainable play. The platform encourages players to adopt responsible habits and use available tools to stay in control. Mark Powell-Bevan, Director of PokerNews, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the cause.

Flutter Entertainment, the parent company of PokerNews, invested $139 million in responsible gaming programmes in 2024. Jane Palles, Group Head of Safer Gambling Strategy at Flutter, stressed the need for ongoing education around safer play. She highlighted that 44.5% of global players interacted with responsible gaming tools last year. The campaign also directs players to support services. The National Gambling Helpline offers free advice at 0808 8020 133. Gamstop, meanwhile, provides a self-exclusion option, blocking access to all UK-regulated gambling sites for those who need it.

Safer Gambling Week 2025 brings together operators, players, and support organisations. The event aims to reduce harm by sharing resources and promoting responsible behaviour. Players are urged to use available tools and seek help if needed.
