Bobby Baldwin takes helm of $3.1B Drew Las Vegas as CEO

Bobby Baldwin, a well-known name in Nevada’s casino world, has taken on a new role as chairman and CEO of the Drew Las Vegas. The $3.1 billion hotel-casino, still under construction, is set to open in 2022. Baldwin brings decades of experience, including leadership positions at The Mirage and the Bellagio. Baldwin’s career spans poker, billiards, and high-level casino management. He won the World Series of Poker and later entered the Poker Hall of Fame. Beyond gaming tables, he authored poker strategy books and excelled in billiards.

His time at MGM Resorts ended in 2018 after a serious fall at the Aria in 2017. Before that, he had led The Mirage and the Bellagio, shaping their reputations in Las Vegas. The Drew Las Vegas project began as the Fontainebleau, which collapsed into bankruptcy in 2009. Developer Steve Witkoff later revived it, renaming the property in memory of his son, Andrew Witkoff, who passed away in 2011.

The Drew Las Vegas marks Baldwin’s return to a major casino leadership role. With his background in gaming and hospitality, he will oversee the final stages of the resort’s development. The property is scheduled to welcome guests in 2022.
