Alabama-Coushatta Tribe unveils new casino resort in Texas this summer
A new casino is set to open this summer on the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas reservation in Leggett. The temporary facility will launch first, followed by a permanent resort with expanded amenities. Tribal leaders say the project will boost jobs and tourism in Polk County and beyond. The temporary casino will begin operations in the coming months. It aims to create around 110 jobs and support local businesses. Chairman Ricky Sylestine stated that the facility would strengthen community ties and lay the groundwork for long-term tourism growth.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the permanent casino, Naskila Casino Resort, is planned for June 18. This larger venue will sit directly across from the temporary site. Once complete, it will feature 300 electronic bingo machines, a 24-hour deli, a drink station, a player’s club, and roughly 300 parking spaces.
Both locations will operate around the clock. The resort will include Class II bingo machines and separate smoking and non-smoking gaming areas. The permanent casino is designed to offer more entertainment options while maintaining the same 24-hour service. The project marks a significant expansion for the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe’s gaming operations. With the temporary casino opening soon and the permanent resort underway, the tribe expects economic benefits for Polk County and neighbouring areas. The new jobs and tourism opportunities will arrive alongside the casino’s round-the-clock services.
