Shocking Remark by Captive - What the player desires even more than being the league's leading goal-scorer

Previously, the Swiss player Zehnder, who was temporarily assigned to the advancement team Eisenach from the league's rival Erlangen, had amassed 269 goals, which included 90 seven-meter goals with a 60% success rate. Mathias Gidsel, a player from the Fuchse, does not throw seven-meter shots; nonetheless, he has 263 goals and a 72% success rate.

Can Gidsel surpass Zehnder?

The gap in goals is six. Anything is achievable. In the initial event (37:29), the Danish world champion scored nine goals, while Zehnder only netted two.

For the second-place team from Berlin, the Goal King trophy is the final honor they can win this season. The Fuchse lost the championship to Magdeburg, the European title to Flensburg, and their journey ended in the semifinals against SCM. Coach Siewert (30) said prior to the battle against BHC (29:30): "We still have a top Danish player fighting for the Goal King title this year. But I'm unsure how much power is left."

Gidsel Desires Time Off

The fuel was nearly depleted against Bergischer HC. Gidsel stated after the only home loss of the season: "It wasn't sufficient. Now, I just want to help the team finish the season with a decent performance against Eisenach." Regarding the Goal King trophy: "Honestly, I'm more looking forward to when my vacation begins than to the goalscorer list."

Gidsel's teammates made constant efforts to create goal opportunities for him against BHC, and even Gidsel yearned to score, making eight out of eleven attempts. Regardless of whether Gidsel will surpass Zehnder for the Goal King title or not, nobody can deprive him of the record of 263 field goals. Gidsel broke the previous record holder, Gummersbach legend Kyung-Shin Yoon's (50), on May 19 against Hannover (28:25). Yoon scored 248 field goals in the 2000/01 season and held the record for 23 years.
