Two Major Jackpots Won: $2.7 Million in California and $1.5 Million by a Hawaiian Visitor in Vegas

Two players in nearby states struck it rich after winning huge on IGT's Wheel of Fortune slot machines recently.

A fortunate seven, who went by the moniker "Jason P," scooped an astonishing $2.7M at California's Colusa Casino Resort last weekend. The precise payout was a jaw-dropping $2,752,887.71 on a $5 wager.

The casino buzzed with excitement as players and staff members gathered to witness the remarkable win, the casino shared with the media.

"Colusa Casino Resort is renowned for creating unforgettable moments for our guests, and this jackpot win is a sign of that," General Manager Jerry West said in a statement.

Located in Colusa, California, the gaming establishment is situated about 68 miles north of Sacramento. The Cachil DeHe Band of Wintun Native American Tribe of the Colusa Indian Community own and manage the casino.

The exact plans for the money remain unknown.

Vegas Windfall

In another lucky turn of events, a Hawaiian resident won $1.5M last week on an IGT Wheel of Fortune slot machine at Boyd Gaming's California Hotel & Casino, often called "The Cal."

At around 4 a.m. on a Wednesday, while visiting Downtown Las Vegas, the anonymous guest tried his luck on the gambling floor.

He placed a $5 stake, which led to a bonus wheel displaying three 7s, according to Las Vegas TV station KVVU. This activated a progressive jackpot of $1,569,632.91.

"This fortunate Hawaiian resident is leaving Las Vegas a millionaire," The Cal shared on social media.

"Congratulations to this guest who scored a life-changing jackpot on an IGT Wheel of Fortune slot machine on Wednesday," the post continued.

The winner attributed his luck to a family milestone and carrying a suspicious red envelope in his pocket during his stay at the gaming property.

He had visited Las Vegas with family members to celebrate their son's 21st birthday, as reported by Las Vegas TV station KLAS. The envelope in question was believed to bring good fortune and prosperity, the casino added.

The winner decided to keep his identity a secret and there are no details on how the newfound riches will be spent.

Wednesday's win marked the second million-dollar jackpot at The Cal in 2024, the casino announced on social media.

Hawaiian Connection

The triumph recalls the strong ties between Las Vegas and the Hawaiian Islands. It's often called the "ninth island" due to the one in ten Hawaiians traveling to Las Vegas annually.

The Cal stands out as a prominent destination for tourists from Hawaii, according to local reports. The casino's dΓ©cor features many Hawaiian elements, and its restaurants serve Hawaiian delicacies.
