Self-Driven Touring Vehicles Debut in Las Vegas

Self-directed adventures around Las Vegas start from Thursday, 2nd March 2023, thanks to GoCar, a firm that also provides this service in cities like San Francisco, San Diego, and Monterey, CA.

The cars are built on the Arcimoto FUV platform and boast autonomous driving capabilities. Yet, for the present, an individual with a legitimate driver's license must man the wheel when touring is activated.

Tourists can tailor an itinerary that covers downtown and the Strip, starting at $150 for a three-hour ride. Notable landmarks include the iconic "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign, the filming location for "Pawn Stars," the MGM Sphere, and major hotels on the Strip. The company promises longer tours to Red Rock Canyon and the Hoover Dam later in the year.

You're free to take your time during these three hours, stopping for stops like photos and meals, although additional time is charged at $1.44 per minute. Shorter one- and two-hour tours, as well as full-day tours, are also offered at reasonable rates. A whole-day tour costs $260.

"From the get-go, our aim was to provide our customers with a break from ordinary tours, giving them the liberty to drive wherever they fancy, while our GPS-guided audio tour brings the city to life with riveting histories and unforgettable tales," Kenneth Lippman, partner at GoCar Las Vegas, expressed in a press release.

At Your Service

Soon, you'll be able to summon a GoCar directly to your Las Vegas hotel. The autonomous vehicle will find its way to you, and post-disembarkation, it will return to GoCar's downtown office on its own (this technology is currently under Beta testing, according to GoCar).

With our new eco-friendly fleet and the impending driverless tech, we believe we've enhanced the experience, now offering customers the enhanced performance of an electric vehicle while cutting down on harmful emissions, all in a compact EV that will fetch customers straight from their hotel. There's just no better way to explore Las Vegas," Lippman added.

For now, GoCars must be picked up at GoCar's downtown office at 723 S Casino Center Blvd. To make a reservation, call (702) 323-4066, or email [email protected].
