"Day of the lost children" - Searching for Missing Child: The Ongoing Quest for Arian in Bremervörde

Each year, over 100,000 kids and adolescents are reported missing in Germany. Although many return home shortly after, the fate of some remains a mystery forever.

The "International Day of Missing Children" on May 25 revives these cases, originating from the disappearance of six-year-old Etan Patz in New York back in 1979. Etan vanished on his way to the school bus, and his case went unsolved for decades before a man from a nearby store was convicted of his murder 37 years later.

Arian's Disappearance from Bremervörde: Investigators Explore "Mountain of Clues"

The case of six-year-old Arian from Bremervörde-Elm garnered extensive media attention. He's been missing for a month now; his father reported him missing on April 22. The extensive search operation involved hundreds of emergency services, utilizing drones, helicopters, a Tornado aircraft, and a 1,500-meter-long human chain, among other methods. A week later, the search was called off, and a team of five detectives has been diligently following up on multiple leads since then. A police spokesperson informed NDR that they have a "mountain of clues." These leads have been sourced not only within Germany but also from overseas.

On May 16th, rescue teams searched the Oste River with boats; this action involved helicopters, divers, and dogs. The efforts did not result in any discoveries. Presently, police do not suspect a criminal case. They believe Arian may have had an accident unintentionally, fallen into the river, and drowned. This theory is supported by footprints found on the riverbank, likely belonging to Arian.
