Urgent preparedness drill - Practice for managing wildfires conducted in Saxon Switzerland National Park
The firefighting units practice laying pipes, transporting water to extinguish fires and dousing flames. Roughly 150 firefighters from the seven local fire stations in Sebnitz and four others from the district, the mountain rescue service, the Sebnitz Red Cross and the forest and forestry departments of Sachsenforst are all participating in the drill. In the summer of 2022, a sizable wildfire engulfed the Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland regions.
