Poker EM 2024 from July 16 at Casino Velden: Who will be the European poker champion?
The 2024 Poker EM will take place from July 16 to July 28. Over 800 players and 2,000 guests from 20 countries are expected to compete in various poker variants at the Casino Velden in Austria. Here's an overview of the information released so far about the Poker EM.
Seven Tournaments at the 2024 Poker European Championship
The Casino Velden in Austria will host this year's Poker EM from July 16, 2024. The casino on Lake Wörthersee will offer a total of seven different tournaments where poker professionals will compete for an EM title:
- Limit Seven Card Stud European Championship
- PL Omaha European Championship
- NLH Ladies European Championship
- NLH High Roller European Championship
- NLH European Poker Championship Main Event
- NLH Mystery Bounty Championship
- NLH 6-Handed European Championship
The Poker EM has been held at the Casino Velden since 2015. Last year, over 800 poker players participated in the championship. It is expected that this year could set a new record and surpass the number of participants.
Among the participants of the NLH Ladies European Championship will be three-time European champion and world champion Jessica Teusl [English link] from Wiener Neustadt, Austria, who won a bracelet at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Ladies No-Limit Holdem Championship in 2022.
Nicola Angelini [English link], the reigning Poker European champion from Italy, will compete in the NLH Main Event (buy-in of 2,750 euros) to defend his title.

The casino's restaurant, DIE YACHT, has already been awarded three Gault & Millau hats and will cater to the guests' culinary needs during the Poker EM. In addition to the à la carte menu, there will be the traditional suckling pig dinner and the Carinthian Brettljausen (traditional Austrian cold cuts platter with speck, sausage, and cheese).
