Play'n GO invites you to a slot-themed barbecue event.

Play 'n GO, a renowned game developer, has recently launched their latest online slot machine called "Sizzling Spins". Instead of featuring fruits, this game presents steaks as its main theme. The company, based in Växjö, Sweden, has mainly found success in creating Novoline knockoffs. They were awarded an EGR Award in June.

On July 24th, as expected, Sizzling Spins was introduced to the world, arriving during the hottest days of a record-breaking summer, with temperatures reaching an impressive 36°C. The creators of this game must have been relieved to provide a fun alternative to sweltering heat, given the 14th release of the year, which is derived from the concept of the "Great British BBQ". With five reels and three rows, this video slot offers 243 winning opportunities. The betting range is quite generous, starting at €0.20 and going up to €100, with the highest prize being a fantastic €500,000. With an impressive RTP rate of 96.49%, this slot game pays more than the average (~95%). Daniel Wright, the Chief Producer at PnG, emphasized the importance of the universal theme:

"The Great British BBQ is loved by everyone - not just for the burnt sausages! It's about the amazing feelings it brings with it, such as sunshine, loud music, and friends. We did our best to create these feelings in Sizzling Spins."

The game follows the same design as its supposed inspiration, Sizzling Hot, which also has five reels and three rows. Just like in Sizzling Hot, the symbols of the game are placed on a grill under a scorching sun, accompanied by a 70's-style "Dad Rock" soundtrack. PnG added some unique touches by recording the sound of a real BBQ, complete with the sizzling and popping noises. Overall, there are nine BBQ-themed icons to look out for: tomatoes, cucumber slices, mushrooms, onions, and corn on the cob represent the lower-paying symbols, while the higher-valued symbols include sausages, chicken wings, shrimp, and particularly the ribs, which act as a 10x multiplier.

When it comes to the enticing features, Sizzling Spins offers three delicious bonuses. First, there's the Re-Spin feature, which is triggered when a Wild symbol (grilling foil) lands on the "Hot Reel". The Re-Spins can be extended indefinitely until all five reels are "red-hot", leading to a double win.

Second, the game offers a free spin bonus, activated by three Chili Scatters in a row and rewarding players with 8, 10, or 12 free spins.

Third, the machine can shift to "Free Spins Game" mode, in which it transforms into four rows and increases the potential winning combinations to 1,024. During this mode, the Chili Scatter even performs the role of a multiplier, up to x5.

In a nod to an old German proverb, "Sizzling Spins" offers a delightful concoction of excitement, color, and thrill, whether you're in the shade or out in the sun. This game promises an unforgettable experience that will truly satisfy your hunger. However, it's strategic to approach the BBQ, as another famous saying goes - "eat not only with your mouth, but also with your brain, so that your mouth doesn't choke on the greasiness."

Throughout the more than 100-year history of slot machines, certain themes have remained popular. As cutting-edge technology continues to breathe new life into old slots, this trend is becoming more evident when comparing newer PnG titles to classics from Novoline:

The well-known "Mermaids Pearl" is known as "Mermaids Diamond" in PnG's collection, the slot "Dazzling Diamonds" became "Lucky Diamonds", the "Magic Princess" transformed into the "Prissy Princess", and perhaps most notably, the most successful slot game, "Book of Ra", was renamed "Book of Dead" by PnG and keeps reigning supreme in popularity. Comparing Novoline's Sizzling Hot and Sizzling Spins is not far-fetched at all.

With Novomatic and Gauselmann, the companies behind the Austrian Novoline brand and Merkur, respectively, hinting at their plans to leave the German online gaming market, news of the withdrawal has intensified due to the excitement around the so-called Paradise Papers. These papers involve tax evasion, and both companies fear losing their licenses in Germany. This means that their popular slots are no longer available to online players in Germany.

Despite the recent growth of PnG, it's unclear if they can fill the immense gap left by Novoline and Merkur. We'll have to wait and see if they can captivate the masses in the German online market.

But at the end of June, Play'n GO took home the EGR Game Developer of the Year Award. At The London Hurlingham Club, Play'n GO managed to beat out tough competitors like Microgaming, Yggdrasil, and Playtech. They were also nominated in various other categories, such as "Multi-channel supplier" and "Innovation in mobile." Play'n GO CEO Johan Törnqvist was thrilled with the award but stated that they have no plans of slowing down. The eventual conclusion was:

"To win this prestigious award amidst such fierce competition is truly an honor. As a company, we're dedicated to providing our industry partners with the best and most entertaining experiences. This award is a testament to our efforts."
