The goals for the dominating squad were found by Birkan Celik (30'), Nils Fischer (34'), Nicklas Schlosser (68'), and Tim Müller (78' penalty spot). Maurice Neukirch (87' penalty) created a goal for the consolation.
This marked Schott Mainz's third consecutive final victory and their third period in the DFB Cup. In the 2022/23 season, they were overpowered by Hannover 96, with a 3-0 loss. In the present season, they suffered a 6-1 defeat at the hands of Borussia Dortmund.
