Luxury Casinos Bellagio and MGM Grand Intend to Broadcast Roulette and Baccarat Games to Global Audiences

Casino frequenters on the bustling gambling floors of Bellagio and MGM Grand along the Las Vegas Strip will soon spot a few cameras hovering above specific baccarat and roulette tables.

MGM Resorts International, in conjunction with London-based Playtech, have declared the launch of an exclusive live casino streaming service, set to operate directly from these two Las Vegas casinos. Branded as MGM Live, this content will be accessible for licensing solely in regulated online gaming markets outside the United States.

Bill Hornbuckle, CEO and president of MGM Resorts, considers this new offering a significant step towards achieving the company’s vision of being the global leader in gaming entertainment.

This partnership combines MGM Resorts’ vast global reputation with Playtech’s extensive knowledge of international markets and innovative gaming options, as expressed by Mor Weizer, CEO of Playtech, in a public statement. “As a leading technology provider in regulated markets, we are thrilled that this partnership is breaking new ground in the live entertainment sector and offering a unique product to players in these regulated territories,” Weizer added.

MGM Live will kick off with single and double-zero roulette and baccarat games, with plans to expand its entertainment offerings in the coming months to include branded television shows, trivia hosted by celebrities, and more.

Gaming & Entertainment Production

MGM Live will continuously broadcast high-energy gambling action accessible to viewers worldwide, 24/7. Gamblers in the markets where the stream is distributed will have the opportunity to wager on roulette and baccarat outcomes via the iGaming interface in their respective regulated markets.

Playtech, a leading technology provider in the iGaming and live casino sectors, boasts over 180 licenses across more than 40 gaming jurisdictions. One such market where Playtech operates is Italy, home to the leading iGaming and sportsbook company Snaitech, which it owns and manages.

Growth in Live Remote Play

Online slots and table games are currently legal only in seven US states - Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and West Virginia. Meanwhile, iGaming is regulated in multiple countries internationally, including most of the United Kingdom, several European countries, and soon, Brazil.

During MGM’s 2023 earnings call in February, Hornbuckle mentioned the company's intent to partner with, acquire, or collaborate with a live dealer distribution company akin to market leader Evolution Gaming. Evolution provides live dealer games for legal online casino platforms in the US from its studios in states where iGaming is allowed.

MGM has already teamed up with Evolution for live dealer games in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. In Atlantic City, for example, Evolution operates online roulette games from the Borgata casino floor, allowing remote players within New Jersey to place bets on the spinning wheel.

Evolution has bolstered New Jersey’s iGaming platforms by aiding in the growth of their businesses and customer databases. The company is planning a $75 million studio near the Atlantic City Boardwalk to meet the increasing demand.

In December, Evolution introduced a similar streaming product to MGM Live called Crazy Time. Popular overseas, this live game show, now streaming in the US, blends elements of The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune with casino gambling.
