Radical left-wing aggression - Law enforcement is required to shield political figures from those protesting Tesla.

For the first time in Brandenburg, a significant police presence has been arranged for the assembly of democratically elected representatives from municipalities. The event is scheduled for Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Müggelspree Hall in Hangelsberg's Grünheide district.

The main focus of the agenda will be on the resolution for the new development plan to expand the Tesla factory, which now incorporates a freight yard. Since two-thirds of the residents didn't want any more clearing of forested areas, the plan has been revised to keep 70 of the original 120 hectares of forest intact.

The majority of the local representatives now agree with the plan. However, the far-right party AfD and the radical anti-Tesla group are not in favor of it. They plan to rally in front of the hall with hundreds of participants.

Karoline Drzewo (28), a member of the "Tesla den Hahn abdrehen" group, states, "We'll go inside. The meeting is open to the public." They've also organized protests over the weekend, leading to 23 arrests, 27 injured officers, and expenses in the millions. The anti-capitalist group "Disrupt Tesla" is involved as well. Lucia Mende (27), a spokeswoman for the group, declares, "We won't let the local council vote in favor of Tesla's expansion."

The authorities are wary of the situation. Spokesperson Mario Heinemann states, "We'll be there with enough officers to safeguard the protest and the meeting. We've prepared a security plan with the local council. We're ready for anything, even violence."

In a related development, the forest occupiers near the Tesla plant have applied to extend their camp. Currently, it's only allowed until May 20. The chances of approval are slim due to the hot and dry weather, as Brandenburg faces the highest forest fire warning level – camping is forbidden.
