Individuals Visting Ohio Casino Apprehended for Abandoning Children in Car

In Ohio, a parent named Joshua Griffin from Indiana is facing jail time for leaving their three kids unattended in a car at a gaming property. The children consist of twin 18-month-old infants and a seven-year-old.

Griffin was detained on the weekend and is expected in court on Wednesday in Hamilton County. He has been charged with three counts of endangering kids, as mentioned by the Ohio TV channel WKRC.

Griffin and another adult headed to the Hard Rock Casino in Cincinnati after leaving the car. It remains unclear if they gambled during their time inside the building.

Griffin has struggled to post the $9,000 bond and his lawyer plans to attempt his release on his own recognizance which won't require a bond. However, a previous judge denied any adjustments to the bail amount, as per the Ohio TV station WLWT's records. The judge noted that Griffin had previously spent a year in prison in Indiana.

The children no longer seem to be under Griffin's custody, but the reason remains unknown as no information was provided in the local news reports.

The other parent involved, Kylie Pratt from Rushville, Indiana, was previously held accountable, but was released without posting a bond. Her case is still ongoing in the local court.

In the event of a conviction, both parents may face time in jail and an increased fine since there are three charges. This could potentially result in each one serving more time behind bars and paying multiple fines.

The case started when deputies analyzed surveillance footage from the casino, which allegedly depicted the couple leaving the children in the car. They then drove the 80-mile journey from Rushville, Indiana, to the Hard Rock Casino.

No information has come forth regarding the duration of time the children were left in the car or any injuries they might have sustained. The temperature on that particular day in Cincinnati varied from 61 to 68 degrees, as per AccuWeather.

The current state of the children's care remains uncertain.
