The game of Tennis is... - Highly-rated tennis star Wozniacki competes in Bad Homburg Open tournament.
Caroline Wozniacki, a former world number one tennis player, will make her return to the WTA Tour at the Bad Homburg Open from June 22 to 29. The Danish athlete took a break from the sport after welcoming her daughter Olivia and son James into the world.
The 33-year-old had spent a total of 71 weeks atop the world rankings. During this tournament, she'll be up against another player she's close with - Angelique Kerber, who's acting as an ambassador for the event and is also returning after taking time off for motherhood.
Joining these two are Paula Badosa from Spain and Marketa Vondrousova from Czech Republic. Both women will be receiving a wild card entry into the tournament, which will take place on grass courts. Marketa Vondrousova, ranked sixth in the world, is aiming to use the Bad Homburg Open as preparation for her title defense at Wimbledon. Wimbledon begins a week after the end of the Bad Homburg tournament.
