How does LOTTO function?
You can play LOTTO 6aus49 online (LOTTO.de) or using a lottery ticket. You can purchase a lottery ticket at any of the German Lotto and Totogesellschaften's acceptance locations or online.
The rules are straightforward. On each LOTTO lottery ticket, there are 12 tip fields with 49 numbers each. You must then cross out six numbers from one of these tip fields. The Super number is the last digit of the ticket number.
Six numbers plus a Super number are randomly determined every Wednesday (6 pm) and Saturday (7 pm). You win if at least two of the drawn numbers and the Super number correspond to the numbers you have chosen.
The biggest prize, or the LOTTO jackpot, is won when all the numbers you have chosen match the ones drawn. The odds of this happening are 1 in 140 million.
