Hard Rock and Hulk Hogan Team Up to Launch 'Real American Beer'
Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan and Hard Rock International have come together to launch a new beer for distribution across many of the gaming and hospitality giant's establishments this summer.
Real American Beer, founded by WWE Hall of Fame wrestler and celebrity Terry Bollea, aka Hulk Hogan, announced on Wednesday that they have acquired distribution rights in 17 states.
Real American Beer's flagship brew is a "premium American-style light lager" with an ABV of 4.2% and a malty body, promising a "rich golden hue" and a well-balanced taste thanks to the hops.
The company, co-developed with HOA Brands (which owns Hooters), has secured distribution rights for Hard Rock Hotels and Casinos throughout the US, as well as select Hooters restaurants. It will also be delivered to many US military bases.
In the 1980s and '90s, Hogan, an Augusta, Georgia native, was well known for his patriotic persona in the WWF and WWE, with his "Real American" theme song and ring nicknames like Mr. America. He's teamed up with Hard Rock before, having been present for the start of new table games at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa. The pair have also held other promotional events.
"We're excited to partner with Hulk Hogan for the launch of Real American Beer," said Jim Allen, chairman of Hard Rock International. "Given our past collaborations, I'm confident that this beer will be a popular choice for our guests and we look forward to serving it at our venues across the country."
Hard Rock International currently operates six casinos in Florida, and also has properties in Atlantic City, Mississippi, Virginia, Ohio, South Dakota, Las Vegas, Illinois, Indiana, California, Iowa, and Oklahoma. Their Hard Rock Café chain is spread across numerous states and major cities.
The beer industry has evolved after the Bud Light boycott last year, which saw many drinkers reject the light beer after the company featured a transgender person in its advertising. Hogan's Real American Beer is clearly targeting a demographic weary of "woke culture" in their beer.
"It doesn't matter if you're a Republican or a Democrat. It doesn't matter your gender or race. Where you're from, what you believe in," Hogan told Fox News. "I have a beer that's going to bring America back together, one beer at a time."
It's not the first time Hogan has delved into the food and beverage industry. He opened a pasta quick-service eatery in Minnesota's Mall of America in 1995 called Pastamania, but it quickly closed. He also launched Hogan Energy, an energy drink in 2006, and Hulkster Burgers at Walmart in 2007. Both ventures didn't last long.
Hogan also co-owned a Tampa restaurant called "Hogan's Beach in 2013 and still owns Hogan's Hangout in Clearwater.
Hogan discussed his new beer venture saying, “It doesn't really matter whether you're Republican, Democrat, or independent. It doesn't matter your gender, race, or religion. This beer is for every American who believes in America. This beer brings people together."
This beer is a premium lager with a malty body and a golden hue, balanced out by hops. With his colorful past, which includes various high-profile legal troubles, Hogan's return to the spotlight with Real American Beer is a testament to his resilience and charisma.
