The internationally recognized restaurant chain, Hard Rock Cafe, is looking to expand its scope of operations by building a massive hotel-casino in Hollywood, Florida. With a whopping budget of over 1.2 billion euros, this mega-casino will be one of the largest in the world and another iconic landmark in the "Sunshine State."
In 2007, plans for a grand hotel with an integrated casino were laid out, but it was only recently that the Seminole Tribe of Florida, the current owners, received approval from the city to proceed. The construction project was unveiled to the public with a spectacular opening ceremony complete with fireworks and live music. The ostentatious hotel is designed to stand out, featuring a 137-meter tall tower that resembles a guitar - a trademark symbol for the chain. Connected to the tower is a 4000 square meter resort-like area that includes private villas and a pool complex. The developers consider this architectural marvel on par with other famous landmarks like the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Eiffel Tower, and the Sydney Opera House.
The Hard Rock Hotel Casino will boast an impressive 638 rooms and suites, each with a minimum space of 49 square meters. In addition, there will be a seven-story pool tower with 168 additional rooms. High-quality dining establishments, bars, lounges, and a business center are but a few of the many amenities that will be available. For guests seeking relaxation, there will be an expansive spa area covering approximately 3800 square meters and offering saunas, pools, Jacuzzis, and beauty treatments.
World's Largest Casino?
As a hotel-casino, the Hard Rock Hotel Casino will have a dedicated casino area within its premises. According to the Seminoles and James F. Allen, Chairman of Hard Rock International, this hotel-casino will be "one of the largest and most extensive casinos in the world." In fact, it will house an astonishing 3267 slot machines that patrons can use. Players of popular card games like blackjack and poker, as well as those who enjoy roulette, will have plenty of opportunities to participate, with a staggering 175 gaming tables to cater to these demands. To further entice poker enthusiasts, there will also be a dedicated 1,600 square meter poker room. With these statistics, it's clear that this construction project can be considered a record-breaking casino.

The name "Hard Rock Cafe" may be familar to many, but the "Seminole" not so much. The Seminole Tribe of Florida is a Native American group from the United States, based in Florida, and officially recognized by the state since 1957. The tribe faced significant challenges from the white settlers in the past, and is the only one that never signed a peace treaty. Aside from operating the restaurant chain, the Seminole tribe also runs several casinos under the name "Seminole Casino" in Florida, as well as two Hard Rock Hotels in Hollywood and Tampa. With the recent approval for the construction of the new mega-scale hotel-casino, the Seminole tribe is likely to establish a monopoly in the gambling industry in Florida.
