Famous Las Vegas Residence of Former Author Ready for Bidding
Terry Goodkind's former mansion, the beautiful estate where he wrote his hit fantasy novels, is up for sale at auction. Located just 27 miles away from the glittering Las Vegas Strip, close to the Hoover Dam, this palace belonged to the author of The Sword of Truth series.
The main house is 6,455 square feet, featuring three bedrooms and four baths, while an additional 1,712 square-foot guest house with a private bedroom and two-room bathroom overlooks a koi pond. It was in this guest house that Goodkind wrote his 2009 thriller The Law of Nines.
Besides the cozy living spaces, the property comes with its exclusive 3.76-acre isolated desert property, boasting stunning walking trails that were built by him.
The writer had purchased this gated mansion for $1.38 million way back in 2002. Unfortunately, he passed away at age 72 due to unknown causes in September 2020, leaving behind this legacy.
Auction by Concierge Auctions – a subsidiary of Sotheby's – will take place between March 29 and April 11 of this year, with no minimum price. Broker Amber Bartholomew of Desert Sun Realty placed the listing back in 2022 and expected it to sell for $5 million. The price was later lowered to $4.3 million in late 2022.
Goodkind's Sword of Truth series spearheaded sales of 25 million books globally, and his works also inspired a TV series, Legend of the Seeker, broadcasted by ABC-TV from 2008-2010.
Real estate aficionados, fans or simply those in love with fantasy novels, here's your chance to dive into his former world!
