Woman flees scene by driving into an open field
A traffic accident in Werl-Holtum, Germany, has led to a hit-and-run investigation after a woman was found injured and her vehicle was found abandoned in a field.
According to the Circular Police Department Soest Press Office, the incident occurred on Sunday evening at approximately 18:00. The woman, aged 38 and from Lünen, was the driver of the first vehicle involved in the accident. She was found lightly injured at a fast-food restaurant on Hammer Landstraße in Werl. The police were alerted to the situation, and she was taken to the nearest hospital by ambulance. Given her psychological state, it was assumed she would return home soon.
The woman had been reported missing by her relatives before the accident. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
The first vehicle was driven out of the field and fled towards Hemmerde. Meanwhile, another vehicle, a Renault, was found in a field along the "Tiggesloh" road at around the same time. Investigations revealed that this vehicle had driven off the Tiggesloh road, over a ditch, and onto the field. Unfortunately, no one was found in the second vehicle.
