Ukraine fines BetKing operator $10,000 for delayed regulatory response
PlayCity has fined a gambling operator over $10,000 for failing to respond promptly to an official request. The penalty comes as the company strengthens efforts to combat illegal gambling advertising in Ukraine. A new online reporting tool has already led to the removal of a Twitch account promoting unauthorised betting. The fine was issued to SLOTS U.A. LLC, the operator behind BetKing. Regulators had requested information, but the company delayed its response, violating transparency rules. PlayCity stressed that quick and complete replies are essential for maintaining fairness in the gambling sector.
Earlier, PlayCity introduced an online tool allowing citizens to report illegal gambling ads. Within days, a Twitch account was flagged for promoting unauthorised betting. Twitch first suspended the account and then permanently removed it two days later, following an internal review.
The $10,000 fine serves as a warning to operators about compliance with regulatory deadlines. The removal of the Twitch account also highlights the effectiveness of public reporting tools. PlayCity continues to monitor and act against illegal gambling promotions in Ukraine.
