Shaun Deeb dominates WSOPE with Player of the Year lead and bracelet chase

The World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) is heating up, with Shaun Deeb leading the Player of the Year race. His strong performance in multiple events puts him ahead of rivals like Benny Glaser and Daniel Negreanu. Meanwhile, the final table of Event #3 Colossus resumes today at noon local time, where Deeb holds the second-largest stack among the remaining six players. Event #1: The Opener Mystery Bounty concluded with Corel Theuma taking home his first WSOP bracelet and the €150,000 top prize. Maksim Paniak finished as runner-up in the same event. Benny Glaser also made a deep run, securing 5th place, before later placing 21st in the €3,300 Mixed event.

Shaun Deeb has been on a strong run, finishing second in Event #2 at the WSOPE. His current position in Event #3 Colossus gives him a chance to break the record for the fastest player to win nine WSOP bracelets. A victory would also extend his lead in the Player of the Year standings, where he already holds a bigger equity lead than Daniel Negreanu or Phil Hellmuth. Deeb is chasing back-to-back Player of the Year titles, but Glaser remains a serious contender. With multiple high finishes already, Glaser’s consistency keeps the race competitive.

The final six players in Event #3 Colossus will return at 12pm local time, with Deeb in a strong position. A win would further solidify his lead in the Player of the Year race and bring him closer to a historic ninth bracelet. The outcome will also shape the standings as Glaser and others continue to challenge for the top spot.
