Irish Poker Open goes global with Sydney, Marrakech and US expansion in 2026–2027

The Irish Poker Open is expanding beyond Ireland for the first time in its long history. Three new international stops have been announced, with tournaments set for Sydney, Marrakech, and a future event in the United States. The series will also include a major online festival with a guaranteed prize pool of $3 million. The first stop takes place in Sydney, Australia, from September 6–15, 2026. The Poker Palace at Club Marconi will host the event, featuring a $1,000,000 guaranteed Main Event. This marks the first time the iconic tournament brand has travelled outside Europe.

Later in the year, the Irish Poker Open moves to Marrakech, Morocco, from November 10–15, 2026. Casino de Marrakech will stage the €500,000 guaranteed Main Event, with Day 2 action returning to Dublin. The festival will blend poker with themed afterparties inspired by Irish folklore and culture. Before the live events, an online series called the Irish Open Afterparty runs on PokerStars from April 12–20. PokerStars Team Pro Benjamin 'Spraggy' Spragg will host two tournaments on the opening day. The online festival guarantees $3 million in prizes, reinforcing the event’s reputation as one of poker’s biggest celebrations. A third international stop is already planned for the United States in 2027, though details have yet to be released.

The expansion brings the Irish Poker Open to three continents over two years. Players will compete for millions in prizes across live and online events. The series maintains its tradition of high-stakes poker paired with lively social gatherings.
