Nightingale Film Release Details, Main Characters, Summary, and Crucial Information Summarized
After 26 years, Elle and Dakota Fanning will once again share the screen in the highly anticipated drama, "The Nightingale". This marks their first project together since the 2001 film "I Am Sam".
Based on the bestselling and acclaimed wartime novel by Kristin Hannah, "The Nightingale" tells the story of two French sisters battling to survive in Nazi-occupied France during World War Two. The movie will be arriving exclusively in cinemas from February 12, 2027, in the US and UK, as confirmed by author Kristin Hannah on her Facebook post.
Elle Fanning will play Isabelle Rossignol, Vianne's sister who joins the French resistance, while Dakota Fanning takes on the role of Vianne Mauriac, a school teacher and mother.
The production of "The Nightingale" has been a long journey, with multiple directors dropping out from the project. However, it was Melanie Laurent who signed on as director in December 2019, before Michael Morris eventually took the helm.
TriStar Pictures acquired the rights to the book "The Nightingale" in March 2015, and Dana Stevens was the screenwriter adapting the novel. Elizabeth Cantillon remains on the production team for the movie.
It's worth noting that Isabelle's escape route in "The Nightingale" is based on the real-life Comet line, led by 24-year-old Andreé de Jongh.
For those who enjoyed "Firefly Lane", Kristin Hannah's previous novel, there's more to look forward to, as another of her novels, "The Women", is being turned into a movie soon.
Elle Fanning has previously starred in historical TV series like "The Great" and movies such as "Reservation Road", "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button", and "Daddy Day Care". Dakota Fanning's impressive filmography includes "I Am Sam" (2001), "War Of The Worlds" (2005), "The Secret Life Of Bees" (2008), and "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood" (2019).
The cinema release date of "The Nightingale" in Germany is scheduled for February 25, 2027. Don't miss this moving portrayal of sisterhood, courage, and resilience when it hits theatres next year.
