At its core, Pudgy Party is a party game offering fast-paced mini-games similar to Fall Guys or Stumble Guys, but with a unique Web3 twist. Players must navigate through obstacle courses and survive survival challenges. The game draws comparisons to popular battle royale games, but with a playful and engaging twist.
Mythical Games, the developer behind Pudgy Party, has built some of Web3's most prominent games, including FIFA Rivals and NFL Rivals, which have amassed millions of mobile downloads. John Linden, CEO of Mythical Games, previously served as a studio head at Activision and founded Seismic Games. He led Mythical Games in developing Pudgy Party.
John Linden stated that the focus of Pudgy Party was a good fit for both the brand and the gameplay. Pudgy Penguins CEO Luca Netz aims for Pudgy Party to have tens of millions of players and downloads, and to become the first Pudgy franchise product to make a massive push beyond the crypto bubble.
The onboarding experience in Pudgy Party is designed to encourage "getting in and playing." Most users won't initially be aware of the wallet integration, making it easy for anyone to jump into the game. Users who play Pudgy Party will be automatically onboarded into a wallet for Web3 gaming.
Seasons in Pudgy Party will run monthly and come with free and premium passes, special events, and leaderboard competitions. The first seasonal event for Pudgy Party is "Dopameme Rush," a brainrot-themed event featuring popular internet memes.
In addition to the gameplay, users can collect in-game assets, such as outfits, emotes, and NFT-mintable costumes. These assets can be used to customise and personalise the Pudgy Penguin characters, which have garnered popularity across social media and retail products.
