Market Debut for Preeminent Enamel Product Producer: The Saxon Enamel Expert, OMERAS, Aims for Industry Dominance

In mid-August 2025, OMERAS GmbH, a company based in Lauter-Bernsbach, Saxony, known for surface finishing and metal processing, announced a significant change. Schultze & Braun GmbH & Co. KG has signed a purchase agreement for OMERAS, securing the economic survival of the company.

The restructuring process, which began at the end of February 2025 due to the aftermath of the Corona pandemic and price increases due to geopolitical tensions, has proven successful. The majority of OMERAS's approximately 150 employees can look to the future with confidence, as around 135 jobs are secured.

The new owner is HLE Glascoat, a leading manufacturer of enamel products and other trades for the chemical and pharmaceutical industry based in Anand, India. HLE Glascoat convinced potential investors with its concept and vision for the future of OMERAS.

Rüdiger Bauch, a specialist lawyer for insolvency and restructuring law at Schultze & Braun's Chemnitz location, has been actively involved in the proceedings and management as an interim administrator. Close cooperation of Flöther & Wissing Sanierungskultur, Schultze & Braun, and OMERAS management was key to the restructuring success.

OMERAS, which was founded in 1992 and has roots going back to the oldest existing enamel works in Germany with almost 200 years of tradition, will increasingly concentrate on the design and production of enamelled fittings in the future, with a focus on the core business, enamel production.

The approximately 150 employees of OMERAS provide numerous customers with services such as individual planning and production of enamelled facade elements, which are distributed worldwide. OMERAS also deals with the conception and production of containers, focusing on large-scale projects such as silos, drinking water tanks, and storage solutions for industry and agriculture.

The 14 employees in the assembly area, which will not be continued in the long term, will find new jobs quickly. Restructuring of business areas at OMERAS is planned, with increased focus on production.
