Krasnodar funds ramps for disabled residents and war veterans

Krasnodar has introduced a new social support measure to fund the installation of ramps for residents with disabilities. The decision, approved by the City Duma on October 23, will prioritise veterans of the special military operation. Mayor Yevgeny Naumov attended the session and later called the move a key step toward improving accessibility.

The city administration’s press service announced the initiative, which shifts responsibility for ramp funding from management companies and private businesses to municipal support. A special commission will assess each request, approving installations only where modifications are technically possible.

So far, 22 residential buildings have received approval for adaptations to meet the needs of disabled residents. The mayor emphasised that creating an accessible urban environment remains a priority for local authorities.

Eligible residents, including veterans, can now apply to have ramps installed at no personal cost. The programme aims to remove physical barriers in housing, with further assessments planned for additional buildings. City officials will monitor progress to ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
