IHG expands with 11 new European hotels by 2027 under major franchise deal

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed long-term franchise deals to convert 11 hotels across Germany, Belgium, and France. The agreement will bring over 1,800 rooms under brands like Holiday Inn, voco, and Garner. The first properties are set to join IHG’s system by early 2027.

The 11 hotels currently operate under the PentaHotels brand. A joint venture between Ogilvy Management and Ironstone Group will own them after conversion. Thomas Bralower of Ironstone Group highlighted the partnership’s strength, calling it a key step for growth.

Germany will see six new hotels, totalling 1,125 rooms in cities such as Leipzig, Bremen, and Wiesbaden. Belgium follows with four properties, adding 497 rooms in Brussels Airport and City Centre. Among these, the Garner brand—part of IHG’s midscale offerings—will debut in Belgium for the first time. France will gain one hotel at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, contributing 186 rooms. Karin Sheppard, IHG’s SVP and Managing Director for Europe, noted confidence in the region’s expanding hotel market. All conversions are scheduled to complete in the first half of 2027.

The deal will introduce three IHG brands to new European locations. With over 1,800 rooms added, the company strengthens its presence in key travel hubs. The first hotels will begin operating under IHG’s name by early 2027.
