Gaiety Theatre and Villa Marina celebrate Isle of Man heritage with bold new designs

The Gaiety Theatre is marking its 125th anniversary with a striking new mural in the Circle Bar. Meanwhile, the nearby Villa Marina has unveiled fresh Manx-themed branding at the Joe Loss Bar. Both projects aim to shine a light on local talent and island-made products. The Gaiety’s new artistic wallpaper mural, created by studio 572, showcases nearly 200 images. These span 125 years of performances, stars, and behind-the-scenes moments from the theatre’s history. The design is meant to inform visitors while celebrating the venue’s rich past.

At the Villa Marina, the Joe Loss Bar now features branding that highlights locally produced drinks. The goal is to make Manx options more visible to customers who might otherwise overlook them. More bars in the complex will adopt the same branding in the coming months.

A spokesperson for the initiative urged visitors to 'raise a glass to local'. The campaign encourages people to choose Manx-made beverages and support island businesses during their stay. The new designs at both the Gaiety and Villa Marina put local culture and producers in the spotlight. Visitors will now see more Manx products on offer, with further expansions planned across the complex.
